Network Design & Optimization Engineers, Egypt

Tangent International are currently looking for 2 Network Design and Optimization Engineers to work on a contract based in Egypt.

The candidate must have:

• Radio Design & Optimisation Radio WCDMA
• Extensive knowledge and experience in RAS06/RU10 Features and parameters
• Minimum 5 years experience working in 3G RF Optimization, with minimum 2.5 years experience on NSN/Ex-Nokia equipment
• Hands on experience in 3G new feature introduction into the network
• Data Performance Optimization (PS, HSDPA, HSUPA)
• HSDPA Knowledge - HSDPA Concept, New HSDPA Channels, Modulation and Coding Options, Modifications to Layer 2 and the MAC Architecture, MAC-hs Structure, HARQ and Key Features. HSDPA Session Setup, UE Capabilities, Additional Signalling Parameters, Mobility with HSDPA Active, Additional Measurement Triggers.
• ISHO 2G/3G parameter optimization competence
• Drive Test Analysis competence (DT Tools: TEMS Investigation, Post-processing tools: ACTIX)
• Experience in NetAct Plan Editor and XML files generation
• Performance Monitoring Expertise (KPIs, counter level, Reporting Suite)
• Hands on experience in NetAct Optimizer 2.1 is desirable
• 3G Capacity Management knowledge (WCEL, WBTS and RNC)
• Counter & KPI monitoring with agreed trigger thresholds (daily/weekly) to measure resource usage or/and blocking. Detailed Blocking cause analysis & optimization actions
• Possible Hardware Capacity upgrade actions & verifications
• UMTS Planning Process - UMTS Link Budgets, UMTS Planning, HSDPA Issues, Multi-Frequency Networks and Antenna Selection.
• Site Location and Integration - Key Site Criteria, Capacity v Coverage, Hot Spot Issues, Hierarchical Sites and High Sites

Additional :

• The candidate should possess excellent communication and management skills as the position would require frequent interaction with the Customer.
• English language is a must, Arabic would be a plus.

Our client is looking for an experienced Radio Network Planning & Optimization Manager for their project based in Egypt.

Main Responsibilities:

• To take charge of RNP&O dept about 100 engineers in North Africa as an assistant manager.
• To Support sales and marketing in RNP&O service development and bidding, especially provide advanced RNP&O service solutions and successfully achieve the target of the sales.
• To support delivery for Radio Network Planning & Optimization Projects of GSM/UMTS&HSDPA/CDMA2000&EVDO/WiMax all over in North Africa, and provide recommendations for future growth support and all planning issues.
• To provide excellent presentation and communication with high level technical customers such as RF Manager, RF Director, CTO and CEO, and increase their satisfaction and confidence.
• To Collect and analyze the RNP&O MI information, make full use to increase the competition and highlights of the RNP solution, and convince customers.

Qualification and Requirements:

• Bachelor degree or above in Telecommunication, Electronic or equivalent.
• At least 7 years of RF planning/optimization and engineering experience.
• Master the high level product/technical skills and be proficient in the RNP/Ofor all GSM/UMTS&HSDPA/CDMA2000&EVDO/WiMax systems.
• More than 2 international important projects experiences, as RNP&O TL or RF manager. Frequent business trips will be required.
• Able to work well in a fast-paced changing and experience working with cross-cultural teams would be desirable.
• Familiar with world famous operators’ working method and culture. Excellent presentation and communication skills,advanced customer negotiation skills.
• Excellent team spirit with good communications and interpersonal skills.
• Fluent oral and written English, and Fluent Arabic is preferred. Business trip to Sudan, Libya, etc.
