Tangent International are looking for a Project Manager for a 12 month fix term contract based in Saudi Arabia. The successful candidate will be responsible for the end-to-end implementation of all new and expansion Hajj-related GSM projects.

You will coordinate project tasks with all concerned parties, and will monitor the execution and work performance of the Wireless Network Integration involved staff to ensure timely and orderly execution of all project tasks.

Requirements:
  • Minimum 12 years telecommunication experience with at least 5 years in a management position within a telecom organisation.
  • University Degree in telecommunication engineering or equivalent.
  • Extensive knowledge and professional experience in projects management, project control, project reporting and coordination.
  • Formal training in project management techniques and methodologies (PMI, PRINCE or similar) will be considered an advantage.
  • Strong experience in Wireless Network projects rollout (2G/3G GSM), covering all project phases from planning to commissioning, and all elements (BSS, BSC, civil works, transmission, site acquisition).

The 3G RO Engineer is assigned to work on troubleshooting problematic cells / Cell and RNC parameters tuning / performance monitoring and improvement of the Radio Network (3G). Job description

Main activities

Work Areas:

Job Description:

  • To receive Teletraffic Data Order (DTO), write MML commands, use pre-defined testing tools.

2G Optimization Engineer (Back Office)

Job Title      :  2G Radio Network Optimisation Engineer

Duration : 12 months (extendable)
Working Hours : 48 standard hours per week + additional hours as required

Job Description:
  • Monitor the daily busy hour statistics.
  • Responsible for reducing congestion and drops, improving the Handover, Location Update, Paging & CSSR in his designated area, issuing capacity requests whenever needed.
  • Responsible for testing the radio performance for the newly integrated sites.
  • Discuss the frequency retunes requests with his team leader for his designated area.
  • Responsible for the drive test analysis and taking the necessary action to improve the performance of his area.
  • Change the radio related parameters, by using the GATS, which is an Oracle Database designed to streamline the interaction between the Optimization team & Radio Frequency team with O&M.
  • Participate in technical discussions with the customer in order to gather product-related information.
  • Perform Radio Network Surveys, i.e. visit possible base station sites in order to judge if they are suitable from a radio network point of view (Hardware & Location).
  • Evaluate and adapt new methods and technologies regarding Radio Network Optimization & Tuning.
  • Help the customer to get more knowledge about Ericsson’s products by holding seminars and presentations of new or enhanced products and functionality.
  • Ability to use the following tools: TCP, Tems Investigation, PMR, CNA, CHA, BO, MTR & MapInfo.
  • Be involved in trial projects for new products & features.
  • Act as a mentor for the younger STC engineers.

Qualification (formal education needed):
The BTS Optimization Engineer should have a B.S. in Electrical Engineering or equivalent with a minimum of 8 years optimisation experience and 3 years with Ericsson in telecommunication or related field.

Requested competence:
  • Extensive experience in relevant field, the BTS Optimization Engineer should have a good knowledge in the field of radio communication, acquired through technical training and practical experience in Ericsson or another equivalent company.
  • To achieve and maintain a high level of the Radio Network Services, and ensuring high quality performance on all technical activities, the highest possible level of customer satisfaction.

1. Transmission Field Engineers
SoW and skills:

  • Configuration & Commissioning of SDH Transport & Cross Connect Equipments (Alcatel ADM/OSMN) with Ring & Mesh Topologies.
  • Expansion and testing for Alcatel ADM/SDH equipments.
  • Operation and maintenance for ALU ADM/SDH.
  • Troubleshooting for ALU ADM/SDH equipments.

2. Transmission supervision engineers/technicians
SoW and skills:
  • Supervision of SDH Transport & Cross Connect Equipments (Alcatel ADM/OSMN)
  • Expansion and testing for Alcatel ADM/SDH equipments.
  • Operation and maintenance for ALU ADM/SDH from NMS
  • Troubleshooting for ALU ADM/SDH equipments from NMS

3. Transmission field installers (Technicians)
SoW and skills:
  • Experience and knowledge on Transmission Equipment and connection between transmission equipment is mandatory.
  • Familiar and good experienced on KRONE DDFs.
  • Familiar and good experienced on ODF.
  • Able to work on 9/24 basis and on-call and on-site.
  • Good command of English (both, writing & speaking are Essential), Speaking Arabic is advantage.
  • Able to use PC and Microsoft product is mandatory.
  • Ability to work under pressure.
  • Driving licensee is mandatory
4. BSS Technical Support
SoW and skills:
  • Ability to fulfill the Alcatel BSS Activity tasks to maintain the system performance. Such as:
  • Having strong Alcatel BSS operation experience is essential.
  • Having B9 experience is advantage.
  • Cisco knowledge, Knowledge of Alcatel OMC, database knowledge is plus.
  • Good command of English (both, writing & speaking are essential), Speaking Arabic is advantage·
  • Able to work on call basis for 7/24.
  • Ability to fulfill the Alcatel OMC-R Administrator tasks to maintain the system performance. Such as:
    • Weekly Full Backup of RNO, NPA, LASER and OMC-R servers.
    • Alcatel OMC-R Systems Administration experience is highly required.
    • Knowledge/Experience on Unix (Solaris 10)Operating System is highly required.
    • Having strong Alcatel OMC-R operation experience is essential.
    • Having B9 experience is advantage.
