RAN Performance Engineer, England


An outstanding opportunity is available within a prominent telecommunications company, looking to recruit a RAN Performance Engineer with a particular emphasis on Nokia and Ericsson equipment.

The role will be responsible for ensuring network performance is always at a maximum, in accordance with the SLA's and KPI's. Aspects of the role are set to include:
  • Ensuring all performance faults and degradations are captured in the trouble ticketing systems, as well as providing regular and accurate updates.

  • Configuration of permanent connections, semi-permanent connections and switched connections with all signalling protocols supported.
  • Configuration of SCTP interfaces and BGP for voice over IP.
  • Perform troubleshooting as well as be able to restart the system in several ways.
  • Perform necessary maintenance of the switch, fan replacement and board replacements
  • Preparing the Data Transcript files [DT].
  • Configuring and Defining C7 signalling links between exchanges.
  • Setting up speech routes with the other exchanges.
  • Preparing the traffic data [B-number analysis, A-number analysis, Traffic measurements etc.
  • Troubleshooting all the hardware problems and operational parameters problems.
  • Analyzing and solving traffic & system problems.
  • Handling Size Alteration problems.
  • Making daily backups, billing files and preparing logs.
  • Able to adjust external alarms such as air condition, fire alarms and fan units.
  • Set up connections to network elements & maintenance in the MN-OSS system

Ericsson RNC Engineer (Configuration Scripts)

My client is looking for an experienced Ericsson RNC Engineer (Configuration Scripts) who is able to work independently with planning and production of Product Configuration data for GSM, WCDMA network nodes included in a network.

The following activities are included in the RNC Engineer (Configuration Scripts)’s duties:
  • Based on the purchase order for the product Configuration service, the RNC Engineer (Configuration Scripts) collects the exchange requirement needed in accordance with Ericsson procedures with respect to the customer’s directives. The collection shall be based on the feature list (sold features) and the block diagram (sold hardware).
  • Collect, analyse and verify the exchange requirement needed to configure the node.
  • Produce the configuration data files according to Ericsson methods.
  • Verify and analyse the configuration data according to Ericsson methods for the product.
  • Produce a summary report
Required Experience
  • Good GSM, 3G WCDMA knowledge
  • Good knowledge of telecom, data hardware and software included in a network environment.
  • System architecture knowledge for different networks. Ericsson system architecture knowledge is an advantage.
  • Knowledge in product dimensioning. Experience with Ericsson product dimensioning is an advantage.
  • Hardware and software product knowledge. Specific Ericsson product knowledge is an advantage.
  • AXE operation and maintenance knowledge is an advantage.
  • Worked with signalling system Nr. 7, TCP/IP and UNIX.
  • Participated in a minimum of two roll-out projects as RNC Engineer (Configuration Scripts).

Job description
The Wireline Support Engineer should be a team player and deliver the contracted customer support services according to established processes like CSR Handling, emergency, network update/upgrade and Network Configuration Management.

Main activities
  • Working with customer service requests (CSRs) assigned or received directly from customer in written form and/or as telephone consultations.
  • Providing professional answers to CSRs.
  • Tracking of CSRs for designated customer(s) (monitoring the CSR while an answer/solution is created, following up with the customer and/or 2nd line support, lead-time awareness)

The role will be to be firstly involved in a TSS softswitch integration/implementation being the prime AXE10 ops engineer in the team. Once the integration is complete you will be then responsible for running all aspects of the TSS4.

Responsibilities:
The ideal candidate will work with the on-site switch technicians and NOC personnel as well as provide support to tier 3 Engineers in isolating faults and problem resolution and periodic monitoring of system performance & alarm handling.


Fault isolation and problem resolution in the RNC & RXI nodes (both HW & SW) and it's interfaces for network issues. Create/send/follow up with CSR's to FSO. Conduct preparation for package loading (it is Customer's Responsibility to load and test)Routine node maintenance, node backups and health checks for RNC nodes when required. Perform Configuration Management of parameters on the RNC & RXI .Assist with technical matters related to RAN System, i.e. handling of RAN nodes (RNC and RBS) and all of various interfaces. Ericsson GPRS/3G Engineer, Saudi Arabia

PROFESSIONAL EXPERIENCE
Work Areas:
  • Responsible for all technical matters related to GPRS system, i-e handling of CGSN node
  • Responsible for the modification of existing system routines, creation of new and temporary routines and follow up.
  • Responsible for all software contents of the system and the GPRS Services.
  • Send/receive/follow up with trouble reports sent to the supplier/customer.
  • Handle and follow up all escalated problems.

EDUCATION & TRAINING
Basic technical education and experience from Ericsson GSM system, as System Engineer Level 2 not less than 3 - 4 years. Good knowledge in English and good analytical ability is also required.

BSC/RNC Support Engineer

My client is searching for BSC/RNC 2nd level support engineers with Ericsson Experience.

The right engineer will be available IMMEDIATELY and will have at least 3 years of Ericsson experience. You will have the experience in performing 1st and 2nd line support on 2G and 3G network, experience with Node B, expertise as UTRAN and will be familiar with al the interfaces such as Iu, Iur, and Lub, good knowledge of ATM, OSS, NEXPLORER, Node B integration.You will be in charge of 1st and 2nd level support on the both nodes and you must be able to support 3G network and skilled with advance troubleshooting techniques.
