Job Information:
  • The ideal candidate will have 5 to 7 years experience as UTRAN engineer, capable of troubleshooting network performance issues in live networks.
  • The candidate must have In-depth understanding of all RAN interfaces and protocols, and capability to troubleshoot capacity and performance issues is required.
  • Must have an in-depth understanding of RAN ATM transport network and capability to modify configurations according to established templates.
  • The candidate must be familiar with Network Performance Improvement, including tracing, traffic analysis and improvement using KPIs.
  • Need to be proficient with trace tools, CPP platform, COLI, Moshell/AMOS, and scripting.
  • Experience with OSS PM and Business Objects are a plus.

Project Engineer - UTRAN Engineer, England


Project Engineer - 3G/ 2G - Prince 2 - UTRAN - Reading- Contract - 12 months

A world-leading provider of telecommunications and mobile networks and technology services now urgently require experienced Project Engineers to manage end-to-end 3G Node B re parenting scheduling, planning, implementation, and reporting. You will be liaising with other departments to ensure all preparatory activities are completed, proactively work to improve and refine existing processes and procedures. You will become a key part of Europes largest network re- parenting projects scheduled to continue for the next 3 years.

Excellent reporting skills are essential - you will be producing reports on a daily & weekly basis.

You will ideally possess the following skills:
  • Excellent project engineering experience in a highly technical environment.
  • A formal Project engineering accreditation or qualification i.e. Prince 2 Practitioner or equivalent.
  • Intermediate 3G UTRAN knowledge
  • Experience of project engineering large complex telecoms projects.
  • Demonstrable project management experience.
  • Good understanding of business processes and financial management.
  • Good coaching and leadership skills. Must work well in a team environment.
  • Positive, self motivated strategic thinker. Must remain calm under pressure.
  • Strong influencing skills. Ability to influence others outside of own area.
  • Good understanding of business processes and work flow.
  • Practical and very well organised. Ability to identify and focus on important areas.
  • Open to new ideas, method of workings and rapidly changing working environments.
  • Familiarity with Microsoft Office products - especially Word, Excel and Project.
  • Good overall technical understanding of UMTS.

UTRAN Engineer, USA


Company : TEKsystems

TRAVEL : able to travel up to 60% of the time.
Person Will Be based out of ATLANTA

Responsibilities:
The ideal candidate will work with the on-site switch technicians and NOC personnel as well as provide support to tier 3 Engineers in isolating faults and problem resolution and periodic monitoring of system performance & alarm handling.


Fault isolation and problem resolution in the RNC & RXI nodes (both HW & SW) and it's interfaces for network issues. Create/send/follow up with CSR's to FSO. Conduct preparation for package loading (it is Customer's Responsibility to load and test)Routine node maintenance, node backups and health checks for RNC nodes when required. Perform Configuration Management of parameters on the RNC & RXI .Assist with technical matters related to RAN System, i.e. handling of RAN nodes (RNC and RBS) and all of various interfaces. Offer expert knowledge concerning parameters and configuration towards the RNC and Node Bs . Review existing system routines and if required, modify /create new temporary routines and follow up of all software contents of the system.

SKILLS & KNOWLEDGE:
  • Working experience of Ericsson RNC, RXI, Node B
  • General knowledge of WCDMA systems and RF knowledge
  • O&M skills on Ericsson EMAS, OSS & Telnet
  • Experience with performance management (including OSS business objects)
  • General experience with work order and trouble ticketing systems
  • Knowledge of Core Network and ATM
  • Preferably, experience with MO shell for any high level trouble shooting as required

TRAINING & CERTIFICATION:
  • Ericsson UTRAN a MUST
  • Ericsson RNC & RXI
  • WCDMA Systems Overview
  • Node B overview experience a PLUS

Connect44 is currently looking for an Utran Senior Engineer to be based in Mexico.

Role Description:
UTRAN Engineers are experienced Ericsson personnel who have been involved in supporting 2G and 3G radio networks. They have had experience of working with Operators of Mobile networks.May be members of the radio delivery team, or the role may be undertaken as a specific responsibility of the RNC integration team.

Responsibilities:
  • To assist/support the Optimization team for the UMTS.
  • Data fill (RNC and Node B) – input all relevant RF and TN parameters for RNC and Node B (with input from Optimization team).
  • To work in the activation of various UMTS features (RNC, Node B)
  • Run NEXPLORER in order to do parameter sanity checks for Node B and RNC Input all RNC and Node B parameter changes requested by the Optimization team
  • To identify if any alarms on Node B/RNC and if present help clear them or identify root cause.
  • To activate and manage RNO tools (e.g. NCS, MRR)
  • To work in the activation of GPEH and collection of GPEH information
  • To activate and manage UETR, CTR and also RNC traces (optional - assist in analyzing traces)
  • Initial Tuning and Optimization of the network
  • Knowledge transfer to local engineers.
  • Other role as requested by the technical managerCompetence.
  • Strong experience in UTRAN / Good knowledge on UMTS OSS / P5 competence highly preferred.
  • Good basic understanding of the RF interface and environment.
  • Understanding of 3GPP UTRAN protocols such as RRC, NBAP, RNSAP, RANAP, etc…
  • Good knowledge and working experience with RAN fault finding and fault assessment.
  • Basic Core Network knowledge to identify problems outside the RAN (desirable).
