OSS Engineer
Job description :
- Administration for Mobile iManager M2000 Element Management System (EMS) to centralized management platform for Huawei mobile network WCDMA & GPRS O&M Solution.
- Manage T3 storage using VERITAS Volume Manager 4.0.
- Administrating Sun Solaris O.S 8.
- Managing M2000 User Accounts (Creating, Viewing, Modifying, and Deleting M2000 Users & Groups, and assign Authorizing User Groups).
- Monitoring of the M2000 Server
- Monitoring the Server Performance (Processes, Solaris, CPU usage, memory capacity, and free memory.)
- Monitoring the Hard Disk Usage, Database Usage, M2000 Services, Alarm Status and NE Connection, System Monitor Configurations Window, Operation Status of M2000 Software Modules.
- Creating scripts for Database & O.S.
- Full support to customer for any O.S.S. related issues.
- Setting Alarm Thresholds
- Viewing M2000 System Logs
- Managing Performance management operation (Enable, Suspend & Disable different Performance Counters).
- Observe and maintain M2000 database
- Check Database occupancy and take action when occupancy is high.
- Modifying alarms (Names, type, level,)
- Verify and modify Topology structure.
- Open trouble ticket with Huawei Technical support and follow up with them to solve technical issues.
- Upgrade M2000 version & releases, and service pack.
- Submit daily reports to customer including (Network Level Performance Reports...5 reports, M2000 daily performance, M2000 Daily Maintenance report, M2000 weekly maintenance reports.)
- Backup M2000 file system, database, alarms, performance, daily and weekly and submit backup tape to customer weekly.
- Administrating & maintain software database (made by me) for Sites access password (Combination locks access).
- Administrating & maintain software database (made by me) for sites intruders, and verify sending report to customer for this.
- Monitoring OMC link with different regions and follow up with mobily and our stuff to solve any disconnection.
- Monitoring and configuring Routers related to OMC.
- Technical Support to workstations in NOC.
