RAN Support Engineer, England

A fantastic opportunity is now available as a RAN Support Engineer working for a mobile network provider, based in Berkshire. Your primary responsibility will be to monitor the availability and performance of the Radio Access Network comprised of 2G, 2.5G and 3G equipment (BTS, Node-B, BSC, RNC, and Power).

Your responsibilities will include:
  • To perform 1st line diagnostics resulting in remote restoration or in the raising of a trouble ticket to the appropriate resolving agency.
  • Maintain the availability and performance of the RAN in line with KPIs.
  • Manage and prioritise faults within the Incident Management Process.
  • Provide fault co-op and expert advice to resolving agents.
  • Manage Field Operations call-out process.
  • Participate in strategies and initiatives aimed at improving the availability and performance of the RAN and services.
  • Actively improve efficiency in alarm management and handling.
You will need working knowledge of supporting the 2G/3G RAN network from within the NOC/NMC (Network Management Centre) and have worked with Ericsson, Nortel, Alcatel, Nokia or Siemens kit.
