A world-leading provider of telecommunications and mobile technology, networks and services now urgently require an experienced Principal Solution Architect with management experience of a Circuit Switched Core network planning team for a mobile operator.
The Principal Solution Architect – Circuit Switched Planning will provide technical and thought leadership in the Circuit Switched technology domain during the delivery of network planning services aswell as acting as subject matter expert supporting the company in the definition of network planning services within this domain.
You will be managing a team responsible for delivering migration planning deliverables for a 2G/3G mobile network operator. An in depth end to end understanding of 2G /3G networks concepts is essential. Will involve regular liaison and co-ordination with key customer and Programme staff. This role will require regular attendance on customer premises.

Key Competencies :
- Circuit Switched Core network planning team management experience for a mobile operator.
- Ability to independently lead and manage the MSS migration planning team of an operator's CS Core network.
- Extensive Circuit Switched 2G/3G core network planning expertise.
- In-depth understanding of 2G /3G networks layout, nodes, connectivity etc is essential.
- GSM/WCDMA background is important.
- Good understanding of traffic modelling and forecasting tools.
- Good working knowledge of Operators planning processes and procedures.
- Good working knowledge of network topology and node requirements.
- Good working knowledge of traffic forecasting.
- Basic/ Intermediate knowledge about EXCEL (e.g. ODBC etc)
- Good understanding of network hardware builds.
- Experience of layered architecture.
The successful applicant will also be expected to develop relationships with peers and contacts within the business in areas such as Product Units, Solutions Groups, Competence Centres, Delivery Organisations and will also be expected to interface regularly with the Customer Project Units providing sales support activities when required. Self-learning and on-the-job training will also form a component of the activities. This will be complemented by a programme of formal training.
