Project Engineer TI, Indonesia

Project Engineer TI

(Location Indonesia)

Job Description
Purpose of the Role : Responsible for the Implementation works quality, cost and timely rollout volume commitments in zone. This role exists in project zone level.

Main Responsibility Areas
  • Responsible for the timely completion of BSS/RAN equipment Implementation. Coordination and support of the TI subcontractors and Site Quality Control in Zone.
  • Responsible for a site from Ready for Installation status to the issuance of the Unit Acceptance Certificate

Key Tasks
  • Zone roll out work; Manages all construction works and BSS/RAN implementation activities in a zone. Management of the construction works and equipment implementation team in a zone. Ensure CW/Implementation activities and quality meet project requirements and targets.
  • Scheduling of the site activities ; Receive SA and permitting documentation from SA. Review and approve Site specific drawings (site lay out + equipment installation drawings) coming from service suppliers. Organize kick off meetings for starting sites
  • Service supplier interface; Manages service supplier teams (CW and TI). Prepares together with cost and progress engineer purchase orders for site works to service suppliers. Follow up service supplier performance. Communicates Model site standard design & details to service supplier teams.
  • Reviews site specific design (CW+TI) prepared by service supplier teams, send them for Customer approval. Co-ordinates site design and construction works site deployment activities with SA and TI teams in zone. Supports service suppliers in ePM usage
  • Cooperation with other functions; Cooperate with network planning, site acquisition and site inspector to ensure the roll out according to the project plan.
  • Ensures all local issues are considered and NSN CW standards and guidelines are followed. Supports Site Design Mgr to set up model site standards and ensures any CW/TI issues are properly considered.
  • Meeting and reporting; Follow and report the work progress related to time schedule and Quality to zone manager and escalate the deviations. Analyze CW/equipment implementation key matrices as reported in NSN project management system EPM. Propose and act on corrective actions.

SDH Project Engineer, England

SDH Project Engineer - Mobile Telecoms - A leading mobile telecoms company is searching for a SDH Project Engineer to join their team in Berkshire on a contract basis.

The SDH Project Engineer will be responsible for the preparation and application of ATM configuration data to the network in agreed time frames and to agreed standards. You will perform quality checks of all data prepared before application to the network to ensure that input errors are kept to a minimum. This role will focus mainly on the Nortel Passport data but will also involve some knowledge of Nortel and Alcatel SDH equipment.

Candidates must have good knowledge of transmission equipment - SDH (Nortel 4k, DX, OME6500, Alcatel 1641, 1660 and 1670), good knowledge of transmission management systems (Nortel Preside and OSP, Alcatel NM/RM), and ideally an understanding of mobile systems (GSM/UMTS). This role may involve an element of night work so candidates need to be prepared for this.

Project Engineer - UTRAN Engineer, England


Project Engineer - 3G/ 2G - Prince 2 - UTRAN - Reading- Contract - 12 months

A world-leading provider of telecommunications and mobile networks and technology services now urgently require experienced Project Engineers to manage end-to-end 3G Node B re parenting scheduling, planning, implementation, and reporting. You will be liaising with other departments to ensure all preparatory activities are completed, proactively work to improve and refine existing processes and procedures. You will become a key part of Europes largest network re- parenting projects scheduled to continue for the next 3 years.

Excellent reporting skills are essential - you will be producing reports on a daily & weekly basis.

You will ideally possess the following skills:
  • Excellent project engineering experience in a highly technical environment.
  • A formal Project engineering accreditation or qualification i.e. Prince 2 Practitioner or equivalent.
  • Intermediate 3G UTRAN knowledge
  • Experience of project engineering large complex telecoms projects.
  • Demonstrable project management experience.
  • Good understanding of business processes and financial management.
  • Good coaching and leadership skills. Must work well in a team environment.
  • Positive, self motivated strategic thinker. Must remain calm under pressure.
  • Strong influencing skills. Ability to influence others outside of own area.
  • Good understanding of business processes and work flow.
  • Practical and very well organised. Ability to identify and focus on important areas.
  • Open to new ideas, method of workings and rapidly changing working environments.
  • Familiarity with Microsoft Office products - especially Word, Excel and Project.
  • Good overall technical understanding of UMTS.
