PS Core Engineer, Taiwan

Penta Consulting are urgently seeking an experienced PS Core Engineer for a Leading Global Telecommunications Vendor. The required expertise is in SGSN.

Support of Core and Applications in Packet Core including following activities:

• Commissioning, integrating, and troubleshooting
• Technical support into customer networks
• Responsible for overall performance of Core and Applications elements
• Supporting customer for end-to-end support
• Provide proactive maintenance service support and delivery
• Support change management service delivery
• Organize and participate in pilot and roll-out upgrades and patch installations
• Provide technical answers, Share technical information and provide competence transfer
• Consult with customers regarding optimization, planning, feature activations, and other improvements

Requirements:

• EducationBS Electronics Engineering, Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, Telecommunication or equivalent technical competence
• Excellent competence in NSN Combi-SGSN SG6
• Proven 3+ experience and knowledge of mobile packet core networks and functionality of SGSN.
• Highly experienced on GPRS/EDGE and 3G networks, interfaces and protocols.
• Good troubleshooting skills especially with SGSN.
• Experience in GGSN/Flexi-ISN/CG/FW is a plus
• Has been working in the role of technical support, customer service, SW roll-out/upgrade projects
• Has fundamental IP and Unix knowledge
• knows basic IP configuration and troubleshooting.

PS Core Engineer

Main Duties and Activities :

• Familiar with 3G Overview, IP multimedia and connectivity, SDH/ ATM, TCP/IP,SS7 signalling, NSN’s IPA8200 system, Iu-PS & Gn interfaces.
• Experience in the operation and maintenance of NSN 3G-SGSN. Preferably with also 3-4 yrs of experience in GPRS, TCP/IP and in the commissioning and integration of the NSN 3G-SGSN.
• Responsible for the corrective and preventive operations activities such as backup, system logs/process analysis and fault investigation, management and resolutions..
• Provides expertise leadership in the PS core related in alarm / problem management, supports actively in the NOC’s problem management
• To plan, design and deliver periodic workshops related to the OAM issues, facilitates discussions and reviews of specific OAM issues, in improvement programs and initiatives around the inter-working operation process.
• To develop the team’s capability through demonstrations and proper coaching of the fault clearance.
• To identify and develop 3G O&M routines & checklists and plan to provide on-the-job training of these routines to the Operator’s O&M personal.
• Plans, executes, participates and follows up proactively all technical activities to meet the customer and operation organisation needs
• Solves technical problems or escalates to the correct group/team
• Maintain excellent coordination and communication with customers on technical & network operation activities
