Telecommunications Analyst consultant, Chicago

Company in Chicago area is seeking a Telecommunications Analyst consultant, with a potential for right to hire, to support the Telecommunications Manager with the administration and coordination of all voice-related telecommunications issues and tasks, both at the corporate office and at regional/divisional offices.

Should have solid experience with AVAYA VOIP infrastructure to include LAN and WAN connectivity.

• Experience with Avaya PBX, VoIP and Audix voicemail systems.
• Strong understanding of networking technologies including; TCP/IP, DHCP, TFTP, VLAN, QoS, VoIP, and various WAN technologies (Frame Relay, MPLS, etc.)
• Ability to create QoS models, IP addressing schemes, and VLAN designs required
• Firm understanding of telecommunications industry, including vocabulary, concepts, etc.
• Create network topology maps using MS Visio
• Ability to deal effectively with telecommunications services and equipment vendors.
• Strong project management skills.
• Above average communications skills (oral and written) and organizational skills, strong attention to detail and follow-through.
• Desire and ability to learn new things.
• Service-oriented attitude.
• Able to take direction, but also able to work independently.
• Associates Degree or above in Telecommunications a strong plus.

Telecommunications Analyst, USA

Our client here in the Fresno are is currently looking for a Telecommunications Analyst to provide moderately complex analytical and technical hardware and software support to their Telecommunications Department. The successful candidate will have good telecommunications technical knowledge as well as strong organizational skills.

Essential Job Functions:

• Perform analysis of service and equipment requests from all site facilities.
• Monitors telecommunication systems including long distance traffic and networking conditions.
• Train others in the use of voice mail, terminal use, and feature use of analog and digital systems on a regularly scheduled basis.
• Assists in ordering and tracking all circuit orders for voice and data services. Updates appropriate databases.
• Performs basic accounting procedures related to telecommunications.
• Maintain and record all work orders received, in process and completed, including audits for completeness, time tracking per install, lead time, and inventory used.

Telecom Analyst (Project Management)

Requirements:

• Degree in Telecommunications, IT, Network or equivalent
• Professional certifications (CCNP and ITIL) preferred
• At least 5 years experience in telecommunications industry
• Experience in Telecom Project Management and Vendor Management
• Strong experience on Routing Protocols, Switching and Networking (Eg: OSPF, BGP, TCP/IP)
• Familiar with telecom technologies like VoIP, MPLS, SIP and H323
• Experience in understanding customer requirements on LAN and WAN
• Ability to perform basic system administration on Solaris or Linux platforms will be advantageous
• Excellent communication skills
