My client is urgently seeking 6 RF UMTS Tuning and Optimization engineers.

Should have solid experience with AVAYA VOIP infrastructure to include LAN and WAN connectivity.

UTRAN Engineer, USA

Responsibilities:
The ideal candidate will work with the on-site switch technicians and NOC personnel as well as provide support to tier 3 Engineers in isolating faults and problem resolution and periodic monitoring of system performance & alarm handling.


Fault isolation and problem resolution in the RNC & RXI nodes (both HW & SW) and it's interfaces for network issues. Create/send/follow up with CSR's to FSO. Conduct preparation for package loading (it is Customer's Responsibility to load and test)Routine node maintenance, node backups and health checks for RNC nodes when required. Perform Configuration Management of parameters on the RNC & RXI .Assist with technical matters related to RAN System, i.e. handling of RAN nodes (RNC and RBS) and all of various interfaces. Offer expert knowledge concerning parameters and configuration towards the RNC and Node Bs . Review existing system routines and if required, modify /create new temporary routines and follow up of all software contents of the system.

Core Network Planning Engineer

Review, analyze, and forecast all switch upgrades, additions and growth for the Midwest and/or other assigned regions determined by management. Develop cost benefit analysis for growth, additions, and changes in switching system, voice mail platforms, STP/SS7 network, and mobile switching center peripheral equipment. Order, track, document, and manage implementation of new software/hardware for switching systems.

Responsibilities :
  • Long term (5 years) Mobile Switching Center (MSC) planning including development of fundamental plans for upgrades, changes/additions to switch/peripheral equipment, voice mail systems, DACS, multiplexers/STP's, and support equipment.
  • Preparation of Demand & Facilities charts to reflect required capacity and utilization data for all switch hardware, e.g. DTC, ICP, memory and processors.

Responsibilities of RF Engineer II will possess the following:
  • Cell Site Design (Advanced Level) - Generate market designs, issue search rings, conduct site reviews and approvals.
  • Network Performance Monitoring - Monitor network dropped call, blocked call, and ineffective attempt daily statistics within a Nortel CDMA network. Trend historical performance data to anticipate future network performance.
  • RF Network Optimization - Implement necessary software and/or hardware changes necessary to improve market performance and to improve customer perception of the network. RF Data Acquisition and Data Post-Processing - Collect RF drive test data using various data acquisition platforms. Post-process drive test data using Actix software or similar.
  • Mapping – Generate demographic maps using Mapinfo to support the planning and design of RF networks and sales support activities.
  • Process Improvement and Documentation - Analyze existing technical processes and prepare formal documentation for other groups within Cricket (both technical and non-technical personnel).
  • Advanced level knowledge of RF test equipment is required, including configuration and implementation of RF test equipment including field data acquisition platforms (Agilent preferred), GPS equipment, transceivers, and RF sweep test equipment (Anritsu Sitemaster preferred).

Qualification :
  • BS or MS degree in technical field required.
  • Technical experience with Nortel CDMA wireless cellular or PCS networks is required.
  • Must have functional experience with the following software: Planet EV, Siterra, Mapinfo and Actix
  • Communication Skills - Must be able to clearly communicate ideas in verbal and written formats.
  • Demonstrated success presenting before zoning boards, management, and cross-functional project groups is a must.
