Core Engineer
Project People are currently recruiting for a highly competent Switch Operations Group (SOG) Technician! This fantastic opportunity is working for one of the UK's leading Network Providers with locations all around the UK.
Essentially, the role requires you to work on Nokia Node B's and RNCs- performing upgrades and also expansions via Netact. It also involves IMA re-parenting and swap outs from Nokia Ultra Sites to Flexi Sites.

Other responsibilities would include:
- Ongoing maintenance of Node B's and Nokia 3G RAN
- Assigning Node B's to Media Gateways
- Upgrading AXC
- Ensuring all network elements are integrated to Netact
- Making adjustments to 3G RAN
- Parameter changes on Node B's, RNC's and AXC's
- Loop testing, checking transmission with field engineers
Our client is looking for somebody who would not only be highly competent in the duties listed above but who would also possess the following skills:
- A good knowledge of Mobile Switch environment
- An understanding of 2G Nortel, Ericsson Switching Platforms and 3G Nokia Switching Platforms
- Databuilding
- Excellent communication skills
- Fantastic organisational and planning skills
- The ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines
- Nokia and Netact knowledge is essential!
