Customer Operation Engineer

The ideal candidate will have experience supporting and delivering solutions in the telecommunications market in African or Middle Eastern regions. The responsibilities for this role are:
  • Participation in pre shipping installation and system testing work.
  • Participation in installation and commissioning project planning.
  • System installation and commissioning work on customer's sites.
  • Participation in customer training.
  • System acceptance testing and handover to customers.
  • Provision of hardware and software technical support.
  • Optimization and troubleshooting of GSM/GPRS/CDMA networks.
  • Internal reporting and provision of feedback to customers.
  • Creation and maintenance of Customer Support documentation.
Initially based in Limerick, Ireland with the possibility of relocation to West Africa this role will involve extensive international travel. Ideally candidates should have a good command of French & English, a relevant degree, industry experience and a strong background in the following areas:
  • Knowledge and experience of SS7.
  • Telecommunication and signaling systems including MAP, SMPP, GPRS, INAP.
  • Knowledge of IP networks.
  • Real-time/embedded software.
  • Unix (Solaris, Linux, HP_UX), Perl, shell scripting.
