Network Planning Engineer
My Telecoms based client is currently seeking a Circuiting Engineer for a 6-month contract to be based in Cheshire. I am looking for candidates with experience in a customer facing network / circuit configuration role gained within a Telecoms environment. Experience of ATM and Cramer is essential for this role, any exposure to SDH and PDH technology is highly desirable.
Responsibilities for this role to include:
- Planning and creation of network configuration data and connectivity to vendors / Operations in agreed time frames and to agreed standard.
- Analyses requirements and plans circuit routes, identifying and requesting details as appropriate.
- Quality checks of all data /connectivity and information prepared before issue to the vendor to ensure that network errors are kept to a minimum.
- Providing a professional and credible interface to customers.
- Ensuring that all planning databases and the network are consistent. Update, audit, maintain and create data for the radio and transmission network.
- Working closely with other departments to support optimisation activities and data /connectivity related discrepancies and faults.
- Specifying and managing development of network planning tools in line with network changes and infrastructure evolution.
- Supporting other areas with technical support plus production, maintenance and communication of guidelines of best practice policy and procedure.
- Providing weekly updates on current work, issues and constraints.
- Reporting and maintaining network KPIs and SLAs as required.
