Wireless Systems Engineer
General Summary :
Works under the supervision of the Operations Manager and Engineering Director to perform network implementations and make technology recommendations based upon network and customer assessment results. This position requires the ability to design and install wireless networks.
Principal Duties and Responsibilities/knowledge :
- Design, implement and troubleshoot complex network infrastructures to integrate Wireless (WLAN) Network Architecture systems into client environments.
- Conduct network infrastructure assessments and make corresponding recommendations based on assessment results.
- Troubleshoot complex networks including Voice, Video and Data.
- Utilize network analysis and logging tools in the field.
- Configure wireless and related infrastructure hardware and software.
- Research wireless based technology and maintain leading edge skill sets.
- Responsible for requirements documentation and scope-of-work planning.
- Provides wireless systems design and engineering expertise.
- Provide pre and post sale wireless network infrastructure design and deployment support.
- Assists technicians and field staff with integration troubleshooting.
Job Specifications/skills required :
- Industry network certification: CCND, CWNP, OR CCDP REQUIRED
- Cisco Wireless certifications (Advanced design SE, etc)
- 7-10years in related field
- Strong Knowledge of network protocols and hardware
- Ability to present solutions and designs to customers
- Lead Interaction with hardware vendors and industry partners
- Provide Tier 3 support for Wireless (WLAN) Technicians and customers.
