IP Operations Engineer , England
On behalf of my client, one of the UK's best known telecoms companies, Project People are recruiting for a 3rd line IP Operations Engineer to take lead responsibility for technical direction within a fast expanding team of engineers responsible for developing existing networks for increased Return on Investment and developing future capex projects for external customers.
The role of 3rd Line IP Operations Engineer is a vital part of our client's operations division, and getting the right candidate is key to successfully maintaining and developing the network infrastructure. You will be responsible for delivering technical support and improvements through using Cisco hardware and routers and switches in both a WAN and LAN environment. Part of your duties will involve contributing to the IP design process and work closely with the engineering team. Leadership skills are vital to your success in the post and you will work with internal and external contacts, aimed at maintaining best industry Practices.
To succeed in this post you must be/have all of the following:
- Highly accomplished in 3rd line support
- Proven experience of working in the mobile telecoms sector
- Technically sound, with knowledge of various routers and switches including Cisco, IOS, OSR, VOIP, QoS, MPLS
- Worked in a LAN & WAN environment
- Ability to support multiple networks at any one time
- Targeted to achieve high service levels
- Relevant qualifications preferably CCNP, CCIE, CCDP or CCIS
- Outstanding communications skills
