Nokia RNC Back Office Engineer, England

Job Title : Back Office Nokia RAN Support Engineer Department RAN Operations

Paying £325 - £350 Per day.

Overall Job description:

  • To be part of, and to effectively contribute to, the objectives and work of the Back Office RAN Support team.
  • Highly specialised systems engineer providing technical support and guidance for O&M engineers
  • Escalate & Liase with Vendors & service providers for 4th line support until resolution
  • Support during Vendor / Supplier ORM's with technical / statistical data as required
Responsibilities :
  • 3rd line technical support for all aspects of the Nokia RAN comprising RNC, AXC and Node B elements
  • Responsible for high level analysis, diagnosis and problem solving on the RAN
  • Advising on the processes and procedures within ETL that the RAN Support team are responsible for and have involvement with.
  • Interfacing with Engineering and Network rollout to ensure that all technical issues that will affect the operational environment are included in testing, discussions etc
  • Ensure that all necessary hardware and software functionality is included and performance limitations are understood within Operations.
  • Advising of any skills that are required within the team.
  • Ensure that sufficient documentation exists to be able to audit RNC’s.
  • Ensure that accurate RNC configuration documentation is maintained and an adequate disaster recovery procedure is produced.
  • Closely monitoring the planned works on the deployed RAN on a switch by switch basis, to ensure that network availability is sufficiently maintained taking the necessary corrective action where necessary.
  • Ensure that the RAN availability is maintained whilst carrying out hardware and software upgrades.
  • To maintain maximum levels of RAN availability by assisting in the development and / or enhancement, of reactive & proactive skills and processes.
  • Ensuring that the RAN security is maintained at all times.
  • Advising the team responsible for the above activities, assisting with prioritising work and giving direction and motivation.
  • Effectively escalate & liaise with Vendor support until fault resolution.
  • Out of hours support as part of an on-call rota
  • Maintain all KPI and SLA above agreed levels
  • Technical Competencies (Essential and Desirable)
  • Excellent Integration and / or support experience of NOKIA RNC AXC and
  • Node B operation and maintenance Essential
  • In depth working technical knowledge of 3g telecommunication networks

Essential :
  • Experience in 3rd Line Support and familiarisation with an On-Call environment Desirable
  • Sound understanding of ATM and IP networks and protocols Essential
  • In depth understanding of Nokia RNC, BSC, Node B or BTS Essential
  • Good knowledge of Nokia NetAct Essential
  • Academic Background
  • HNC, HND or equivalent (related subjects) Desirable
  • Relevant Nokia RAN qualifications Desirable

Huawei IN Back Office Engineer, South East Asia


We are currently looking for Huawei Intelligent Network Back Office Engineer with the following requirement.

Job Description:

  • The main responsibility is to ensure the fault-free operation and maximum service availability of IN (Intelligent Network) via regular proactive maintenance tasks and close network monitoring.
  • Perform Operation and Maintenance tasks and routines according to documented procedures and processes.
  • Implement and close received Work Orders and Trouble Tickets within the required date and SLAs.
  • Investigate and resolve fault that occurs in the system and respond to emergency situation within the specified response times.
  • Maintain and update IN software and hardware configuration documentation as a results of upgrades, updates and new activations
  • Participate in acceptance testing of newly introduced features or design.
  • Participate/Conduct in software & hardware upgrade or enhancement activities.
  • To troubleshoot/configure all services related to prepaid charging
  • To project manage the troubleshooting activities
  • To create documented processes and procedures for operation and maintenance task.
  • Ability to do audit on hardware and software IN platform
Requirements:
  • Degree in Telecommunication Engineering or related
  • Minimum 2 years related working experience in Telecommunication industry specifically in Intelligent Network.
  • Experience in technical support of IN TELLIN
  • Experience in Fixed network or Wireless communication company
  • Knowledge in handling SS7 protocol analyzers
  • Knowledge in analyzing IP packets
  • Other skills: UNIX OS, Oracle database and SQL
  • Ability to perform traces and analyse/read trace.
  • Knowledge and working experience in Service Data Point (SDP), Service Control Point (SCP), Service Management Point (SMP), VC, Universal Signaling Access Unit (USAU), IN Charging, SMAP, Operation & Maintenance (OAM), IN Network Monitoring (I2000), IN Report Server, GFEP, DACP, RBI & IN Services (PPS, VPN, FPH).
  • Strong analytical skills and the ability to isolate the root cause of problems.
  • Possess good communication skills.
  • Ability to conduct activities unsupervised.
  • Able to work 24 hours by 7 days a week

Back Office 3rd Line ATM Engineer, UK

Back Office 3rd Line ATM Engineer required to work for a large telecommunications company based in Hertfordshire.

SUPPORT THE ATM NETWORK ON 24/7 BASIS

Responsibilities:
  • Preparation and application of IMA configuration data to the network in agreed timeframes and to agreed standards
  • Quality checks of all data prepared before application to the network to ensure that input errors are kept to a minimum
  • This role will focus mainly on the Nortel Passport data but will also involve some knowledge of Nortel and Alcatel SDH equipment
  • Current project work includes IMA preparation, IMA activation, E1 additions E1 reparenting

The successful candidate will have worked within a NMC Environment of a telecommunications service provider. Proven knowledge with transmission equipment and technology – SDH (Nortel and Alcatel) and ATM (Nortel Passport). And also understanding of telecommunications practices and standards.

Back Office Engineer - Nokia Flexi


A leading telecommunications company is looking for a Back Office Engineer.

Responsibilities will include:

  • Supporting Field Engineers
  • Volume deployment and volume upgrade
  • Configuring and setting up RNC's from the office to support the Field Engineers at the base stations
  • Databuild using Netact tools to configure upgrades to Nokia Node B's
  • Ultrasite BTS 3G config changes and CoCo builds
  • Ultrasite BTS 3G Card upgrades and 2nd Carrier upgrades
  • Flexi BTS initial builds and upgrades
  • Reparents of both Ultrasite BTS 3G and Flexi BTS
  • Netact View builds
  • RNC CoCo builds
Candidates must have a strong 3G background, as well as experience with Nokia Flexi and Ultrasite configurations.
