Telecommunication Engineer - Paris, French
An exciting position in Paris has just arisen for an highly-specialist technical pre-sales and post-sales telecommunication engineer for the deployment and support of OTN (Optical Transport Network) solutions and embedded systems.
For our client's project, the position requires providing high level technical support for the customer during the planning and deployment phases of the project followed eventually by maintenance of the network. The candidate will have also to assist the sales team on the customer site.
The successful candidate would have the following skills:
- Detailed knowledge of the transport networks: PDH and SDH hierarchies, Ethernet,backbones, Optical Transport Networks (OTN) and their common deployment and synchronization topologies.
- Detailed knowledge of the common telecommunication protocols: TCP/IP, UDP, 802.3,802.11, G903/G904, RS232/RS485, ModBus, CAN, IEEE 1394, Routing protocols (e.g. OSPF,RIP, BGP)
- Detailed knowledge of common telecommunication technologies: Baseband modulation, voice band modulation, wireless transmission & telecommunication technologies.
- Knowledge of management tools and network equipment technologies and infrastructures (e.g. SNMP, Q1, Q3)
Additionally, the candidate would ideally have the following profile:
- Engineering diplomas with a telecommunication major
- Fluent English reading and writing
- Fluent French
- Strong communication skills
- One year minimum experience in the planning and deployment of industrial or operator networks
- Driving license
