Responsibilities & Main Tasks:

The main responsibility as Radio Consultant is to complete services solution to meet customers business needs. It includes all Radio aspects from beginning to end, Radio Planning to Optimization in business models. Radio Consultants are also responsible for providing Business development and Sales Support within area of expertise.

The Radio Network Consultant work tasks are:

• Designing radio network for WCDMA and GSM.
• Consultancy on radio network optimization and performance improvement.

Note: All activities need to be performed with close interaction with the customer.

Requirements:

• GSM/WCDMA Radio Knowledge (Radio Propagation, Radio Characteristics, Cellular NW principle, Interference, Traffic estimation)
• Performance Analysis (Air Interface Protocol analysis, Voice, CS, PS analysis)
• Minimum a Bachelor of Science certificate in Computer Area/Telecommunications or equivalent.
• Excellent English skill both oral and writing ability is mandatory.
• Good adaptability and quick learner of new technical knowledge is essential.
• Strong IT/IP knowledge is much more preferred.
• Good communication skills with ability to work in multi-ethnical environment.
• Broad knowledge within the field of radio communication systems
• Willing to travel for short or long assignments

2G Optimization Engineer (Back Office)

Job Title      :  2G Radio Network Optimisation Engineer

Job Description:

• Monitor the daily busy hour statistics.
• Responsible for reducing congestion and drops, improving the Handover, Location Update, Paging & CSSR in his designated area, issuing capacity requests whenever needed.
• Responsible for testing the radio performance for the newly integrated sites.
• Discuss the frequency retunes requests with his team leader for his designated area.
• Responsible for the drive test analysis and taking the necessary action to improve the performance of his area.
• Change the radio related parameters, by using the GATS, which is an Oracle Database designed to streamline the interaction between the Optimization team & Radio Frequency team with O&M.
• Participate in technical discussions with the customer in order to gather product-related information.
• Perform Radio Network Surveys, i.e. visit possible base station sites in order to judge if they are suitable from a radio network point of view (Hardware & Location).
• Evaluate and adapt new methods and technologies regarding Radio Network Optimization & Tuning.
• Help the customer to get more knowledge about Ericsson’s products by holding seminars and presentations of new or enhanced products and functionality.
• Ability to use the following tools: TCP, Tems Investigation, PMR, CNA, CHA, BO, MTR & MapInfo.
• Be involved in trial projects for new products & features.
• Act as a mentor for the younger STC engineers.

Qualification (formal education needed):

The BTS Optimization Engineer should have a B.S. in Electrical Engineering or equivalent with a minimum of 8 years optimisation experience and 3 years with Ericsson in telecommunication or related field.

Requested competence:

• Extensive experience in relevant field, the BTS Optimization Engineer should have a good knowledge in the field of radio communication, acquired through technical training and practical experience in Ericsson or another equivalent company.
• To achieve and maintain a high level of the Radio Network Services, and ensuring high quality performance on all technical activities, the highest possible level of customer satisfaction.

Capacity & Optimization Engineer, UK

Position: Capacity & Optimization Engineer
Location: Berkshire
Duration: 3 Months

A new position is available to work as a Capacity & Optimisation Engineer for a leading mobile telecoms company. The successful candidate will work with the principle engineer to delivery a methodology for capacity planning the WCDMA radio network, provide input to the end to end network design, deliver the UTRAN capacity planning, carry out network simulations and modelling to determine network performance capacity, investigate network performance and testing and design of UTRAN admission and congestion control.

Suitable candidates will have knowledge of CDMA, WCDMA, GSM, 3G Air interface standards, 3G network interfaces and protocol stacks ( Uu, Iu, Iur, Iub), cellular radio capacity planning and modelling and network capacity analysis.
