2G & 3G RAN Performance Engineer, England

RAN Performance Engineer required by global blue-chip organization to fill role in South of England in order to undertake performance monitoring of both 2G and 3G network elements.

Responsibilities will include:

SELEK is looking for an Ericsson 3G Radio Design & Optimisation Engineer for our client in Vietnam. Candidates should have consolidated field experience in 3G Radio Network Design, in particular on following topics:
  • RF knowledge about 2G/3G coexistence and co-siting

The 3G RO Engineer is assigned to work on troubleshooting problematic cells / Cell and RNC parameters tuning / performance monitoring and improvement of the Radio Network (3G). It is the responsibility of the Senior RO Engineer to solve and correct radio network problems according to agreed timing and standards set, to detect and highlight radio network deficiencies and to some extent predict future degradations and develop testing and tuning strategies to improve the KPIs.

Duties and Activities:
  • Performance tuning of Node B & RNC nodes including parameters and configuration.

  • Feature preparation for field introduction including test specifications and tools.

The Drive Test Team Lead will be responsible for scheduling call testers on a daily basis. The lead will receive schedules the day prior to testing and immediately contact all the call testers and inform them where they need to go (site and location)

Duties will include:

RF Engineer - 3G Access Performance & Optimization, Australia


Our client, one of Australia’s fastest growing infrastructure and services solutions provider to major telecommunications companies, requires the services of an experienced RF Engineer to join their radio team in the Strathfield MTX facility.

In this role you will be responsible for Radio Access optimisation of BSS parameter sets (GSM and GPRS), radio frequency spectrum (Ec/10) to optimise dropped call rate (DCR), voice quality (VQ) and congestion. The technical environment consists of Ericsson 2G equipment (RBS) and Nokia 3G equipment (Node B).

You will provide as part of this RF Engineer role:
  • Technical assistance and solutions in pre/post sales support to state based business and consumer teams
  • Radio access network element design and preparation of documentation in line with the customer’s national design standards
  • Radio access network growth planning and capacity management to meet customer requirements and sales / marketing strategies
  • Infrastructure integration including acceptance testing and verification activities

Requirements:

3G RF Optimization and Planning Design engineers required for a number of high profile projects in Latin America, including Mexico and Brazil.

Knowledge of WCDMA / 3G is expected and engineers must have experience with design, planning and optimisation experience and will have knowledge with various tools including Actix, Agilent, X-Cal, X-Cap and TEMS.

RAN Engineer - NodeB

A leading global provider of mobile, telecommunication and data communication systems are now looking to recruit RAN Engineers with Switching Platform experience to act as Switch Operations Group Engineers within a major network consolidation project on an ongoing contract basis.

To be considered for the role you will have:

  1. Experience in a mobile Switch environment
  2. Understanding of 3G Nokia Switching Platforms and command structure.
  3. Proficient databuilder
  4. Knowledge of Nokia Node Bs and RNCs

Understanding of 2G Nortel and Ericsson Switching Platforms and command structure and Nokia NetAct would be highly desirable but not essential.

3G NodeB Engineer

Job Description:
  • Must have in depth knowledge and Experience of Ericsson 3G Node-B (3206, 3202), RNC, and Traffic Node, high capacity.
  • Onsite troubleshooting of Node B, Traffic Node, Hi-Cap, Minilink. Troubleshooting and Configuration of E1’s as required.
  • Good understanding of Element Manager EMAS, MSM, Moshell.
  • Must be a team player.
  • Must be logical and through when addressing, diagnosing and rectifying equipment faults.
  • O & M experience within Ericsson GSM/WCDMA network (2G & 3G).
  • Good knowledge of working on Ericsson equipment, has experience working on the BSC, BTC, RNC, Node B. must have experience on 2G and 3G.
  • Support the activation, configuration, troubleshooting both software and hardware of new Node B sites and Provide element management functions.
  • Responsibility also includes the verification and performing the relevant test protocols concerning antenna system which includes the return loss and VSWR.
Qualification:
The Node B Engineer should have a B.S. in Electrical Engineering or equivalent with a minimum 5 years of Experience in telecommunication field.

Requested competence:
Extensive experience in relevant field, having CDMA, UMTS & Transmission Knowledge.

Vacancy 3G UMTS RF Planning Engineer

Requirements :

  • Strong UMTS Network Planning Experience in Asset 3g/Netact or Atoll Planning Tool.( 5+ years)
  • Able to create Nominal WCDMA planning and has understanding of link budgets.
  • Able to conduct Scrambling Code and Neighbor List Planning in Asset
  • Able to setup Asset 3g project site databases and setup RAB parameters for Monte Carlo Simulations.
  • Able to create coverage plots and analyse failure reports to fine tune cell/site design.
  • Stong knowledge in W-CDMA/HSPA air interface and procedures.
  • Proficient in Excel Macro creation
  • Previous experience with Arieso and WiNes ACP tools preffered Huawei, ZTE or Ericsson equipment knowledge preffered.
  • Minimum 4 Years BSc in Electrical, Electronics and Communication Engineering, MSc Preffered.
